| | | Within 20 miles of my house they have built 10 new ones in the last 8 years. While tearing down perfectly good ones that were already there. And yet there is a small town about 13 miles from here that still has to use what was an abandoned mill house they turned into the post office. That one is not closing. I hear 4 of the brand new state of the art ones will be. Go figure.

| | | It would be nice to get into some of these right after they close, and then we could record their decay over the years, and see what may happen to them.

| | | Surprisingly, out of all the little podunk towns around here with post offices, only 2 are closing. I figured out would be a lot more than that.

Welcome to the USA. That is what we do here. We think newer is always better. My city is tearing down the recreation center, to build a new one the same size in the same location. It is financed by bonds which the taxpayers approved in a recent election. It will be almost a year between the closing of the old one and the opening of the new one.
