Sydney Meet - The Trip South

Hi Everyone,

For those interested and able to make it, on Sunday July 31st we are planning a trip down to Wollongong, exploring as many sites as we can and making a proper day of it.

The plan is to meet at McDonalds on the corner of Taren Point Road and Koonya Circuit in Taren Point between 8:30 and 9:30am where we can grab 'breakfast', supplies [if you forgot something (theres a buntings right behind the maccas)] and plan which location to explore first.

What you'll need is comfortable footwear, comfortable clothing, a torch, camera, money for food/drinks unless you'd like to bring your own and a friendly attitude. Other things that wouldn't hurt: a change of clothes and footwear, rope, batteries, GPS and candy.

I know a fair few of us are planning to be there so you're more than welcome to say hi and join along. We have car space and can car pool to make the trip easier so please send me a message to RSVP.

See you Sunday!

D

No... lol. I don't even know if anyone here actually has an account there. If you want to come along, you van message me or rock up, the idea is to leave at 9:30ish so we can make it down to the south coast.

Come to think of it, some of that detail instant hand sanitizer might also be a good thing is people want to bring that.

The plan is to meet at McDonalds

Hahaha co-incidentally, when we had our Melbourne meet up just then, on 2nd July, we all met at a McDonalds too! Matt did shoot you an email, but I think you were Warragul or something!

Once things get political, they want us to stop shooting and start dancing.
I don't dance.

Actually no I was being dead serious.

There is a group of people organizing a trip on facebook and publicly disclosing locations they want to do.

If it were anyone here I would have said that you were f'ing retarded for having that discussion because giving entry details etc out on a forum like that is stupid.

Not to mention against a separate code of ethics that I know a few people have agreed to as they are now members of the cave clan or on their way to becoming members.

But it's not you guys. But please, if you ever are organizing trips, try to do it in a non public manner if discussing location specifics. General chit chat like you've done here is fine though as you've only really discussed general areas you want to go to.

Cheers

Wow rather silly thing to do. Especially if it's a public event. We all know how that girls party turned out.

Anyway Im pretty sure most of as are more sensible then too do something like that (well i hope we all are)

Thanks for the words of wisdom

Definately not us and that's the thing, locations should never be made public at all, that's why I mentioned we would meet up in person and then discuss locations, it's safer, quicker and easier than messaging everyone and it keeps locations secret and restricted to those few.

Sounds like that facebook event is a cautionary tale or at least a perfect example of what not to do. In fact, forum rule number 1 clearly states: "Don't reveal entry details publically."

I'm planning an expo soon where you can bid for a place on the expo on eBay.

Details to come.
