I was trying to get 2 people who signed up for the UER to go, but didn't know about the UER meetup at the time...

One of them told me about it.

So although some did end up feeling butthurt it seems, we went on our own and did NOT try to poach members from Saturdays meetup.

Glad to hear you made it to the site, and sorry to hear that you didn't come by to meet many of the other explorers. Large group explores are not for everyone, so I'm glad that you made the most of your trip with your own group.

I don't believe anyone here is "butthurt" that you or anyone else opted not to attend or wanted to split off to do their own thing. Decrepitude is merely stating that this thread's intent is for people that did attend the meetup to share their pics and thoughts about it.

It ws nice seeing you at the church, I though you might have wanted to tag along, I hope to see you at the next meet up. Your dog is so sweet, was his paw okay after running around ???

No one was offended, but don't be so shy next time & hang with some of us for more than a few minutes.

How come half the pictures im seeing posted are just black squares?

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

The meetup was so obscene, that we had to censor the pics!

Honestly though, I'm not sure. They all appear just fine to me.

I realized on another thread it was doing that too. I have to right click and go to "view image" to see what they are. It's annoying.

Glad to hear ya'll had a good time though!

Did RG manage to keep from lighting anything on fire this time?

Because they actually went to the Malevich exhibit at lacma. The red square shots are really fantastic btw.

Anyone? Anyone? I'm here all week.

Tourism, human circulation considered as consumption is fundamentally nothing more than the leisure of going to see what has become banal.

Lighting stuff on fire was my responsibility this time...though it was controlled

In the end, the lamps turned out to be too much of a hassle for the many shots I wanted to do. I was also getting creeped out being there alone. Still, was worth a try.

If anyone has pictures with me in them, msg me! I would like a copy!

If you were in a group shot I took (at the pool or at the church) msg me and I'll send you a copy!

That's really strange. Hopefully that issue resolves itself soon for you. It would drive me crazy!

And yeah, we definitely had a good time. The only thing RG lit up was the light bars on his truck, which scared the crap out of us for a minute, then we LOL'd.

His truck is a great landmark. Anytime I though I was lost I would just look for the CB antenna.

This thread is specific to the Yes, that place 2011 meet-up. If you want to post pictures of this site but did not feel the need to join us or contribute to the event, please make your own separate thread. - d

is this for real? seems a little harsh. it looks like he found some nice stuff. i think being on UER, being present at the location at the same time & wanting to share his experience/photos is contributing. maybe he had good reason not to be around a large group of us. for some photographers capturing portraits in abandonments is a dream come true, i would imagine for certain types of those shoots privacy may be paramount. thankfully sometimes art is strange & when so sometimes people participate in ways that seem unexpected. i guess i don't see the harm in sharing. just some humble opinions.

anyhow WE had a really good time with you all, thanks so much.
pictures soon to come.

i am the other yourself.

"Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors. The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be." http://www.flickr....orers/collections/

It was great to finally meet a lot of you and put together faces, names and profile names! As much as I wanted to, I'm kinda glad we didn't do some night shooting. I was *really* tired after my drive back up to SF. Decrepitude, ZombieMeat and Fusspot: thanks for organizing all this! Sarita's was tasty.

Here's a few of my shots:

Thank you, decrepitude and ZombieMeat for hosting this event. I had an epic time!!!

That's a really sweet shot! Was it a long shutter speed at night, or is it modified in some way?

Its about time I linked in my pics, I took about 100+, but a few might be repeats(or out of focus, I usually go for quantity over quality)
