Less worrying, more exploring!
| | | Stealth Korn < on 7/19/2011 5:21 PM >
| | | Okay so this isnt a real good thread at this point, as we really haven't had a chance to explore the place............... Yet. But I am working on that, and wanted to share a little preview on it, well because I have nothing else to post, and I also get all excited about stuff. As you make your way through a bunch of farm land, and corn fields in the middle of nowhere, there suddenly is something that just does not quiet look right for the ag business. As you make your way into a clearing you see a couple amazing looking buildings and a large aircraft hanger, and not the aluminum crop duster hangers by and means. Well turns out you have stumbled upon the remains of an area that was used for microwave type radar testing in the development of the B1-B Bomber. An amazing facility, that upon further research you discover has had a roll in many other projects including the Black Hawk helicopter. The site now stands as huge research lab with a 12 foot by 40 foot tall bay door on either side with rail tracks running through the building, and a 5 ish story tall tower with a bay door that actually opens a whole corner of the tower, as well as large retracting window/opening guards in the upper half. Researching this place has been challenging to say the least, as I have simply found literally 2 sentences about in on the whole internet. I have also found an old satellite image of it, that shows that facility have multiple test strips, radar sites, and stilts for mounting air frames. I have also been told that the tall tower building, actually goes about 40" under ground once inside. I may be a little premature in posting this, but we are working on research and possible a contact to get inside. The property is currently privately owned, but the place is locked down tight with active alarm systems on all buildings. I do ask if you know anything on the place please not to post detailed stuff on here yet as far as location, because we would like to keep traffic a minimum at this time as to better our chances of getting the owner to let us in so that Lil Bugsy can do "research for her college paper on the local history in stealth testing". hehehe 1.

| | | yes! we felt that way two weekends ago when those ticks thwarted us! Alice had been researching the property all week. digging & rooting around the webbernet, old documents & news articles.. then tiny little 8 legged bastards kept us out! lol. we got in the following weekend, exhausted from restless nights of haunting images of bulldozers & cool sites just barely missed. lol. -madcap

| | | I'd say park very very far away, set off an alarm and wait in cover to see how long it takes someone to respond.

| | | Sounds good, unfortunately there is nowhere to park really out of the way, and if you ever ready about law enforcement in Kern County, you wouldn't want to tangle with them for any reason. Most recent case is an ex NFL player shot to death last week and the video surveillance footage "glitched" for 5 seconds during the shooting. There is atleast one officer involved shooting every couple days, most don't aim for legs lol. Plus they have fast choppers! Now if I knew we had a good place to hide, possibly, but its a good couple miles to any type of structure from there.

Alot of property cops won't respond to without a verified alarm. Meaning a guard or someone was there to verify it was real.

| | | You got any info on the type of alarm system your looking at? Is it just covering entry points like doors, etc? A couple times I've gotten around alarms by going in from the roof or upper level windows, because the alarms were only setup to monitor the lower level entry points. (Front door, back door, windows, etc). Of course, if this place uses a better quality alarm, than it wont matter. If it were me, personally I'd try and see if you can climb up to the top of the buildings and look for an entry point from there. Unless the place is using motion detection alarms, then your screwed. In picture #1, it looks like on the second level the door is broken and just hanging there? Or is that not the case?
