| | | 1.needs a better angle/perspective maybe more exposure 2.is great love the buildings and perspective 3.needs more exposure so youll have more neutral tones/gray and it should give it a better cold hard look. really digging it though 4 and 5 mehhh not to impressed think they need better angles

| | | One observation I had is that lens you're using doesn't handle distortion or CA very well. You may want to use Camera RAW or Lightroom to correct these problems...

| | | Thanks Swizzler, The lens I am using is a wide converter wc-52e45 0.45x wide angle screw on from ebay and it is screwing onto an adapter for my point and shoot Olympus c-760UZ. I have just had a look at Lightroom lens correction and naturally there wasn't a profile for me ;) but fiddled with the manual distortion slider and it seemed to correct and transform the round line distortion and correct them to straight ones around the edges. Is that what you mean about the distortion fix? CA, is that chromatic aberration ? what tool would you recommend to fix/hide/adjust CA in Lightroom or ACR, and could you point out a spot in one of the pics attached with a CA example for me Thanks for your suggestion about the distortion and taking the time to have a look cheers mate crazytrain EDIT: I wrote Chromatic "Adoration" instead or Chromatic Aberration :-/ [last edit 7/14/2011 10:40 PM by crazytrain1978 - edited 1 times]

| | | First things first, learn about exposures especially low lighting and get a tripod if you don't already have one. Then you can learn how to improve composition.

| | | #3 though the color suggestions may help, still brings in me the love for cold, desolate or even destitute places. Seeing this place on a grey, drizzly day would coax some great feelings out of me. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, the distortion correction eliminates the 'bowed' look where lines that are supposed to be straight look curved. In #2 and #4 you can notice the chromatic aberration along the building where it meets the sky - it looks like a pink strip all the way along. If you can't eliminate it using LR or ACR, what you can do is use the hue/sat adjustment to reduce the saturation or lightness just on the magenta channel. Hope that helps?
