Nice shots, but the tilting doesn't work on most of the shots imo. It does work on the rose and the stairwell.

dont.
in all seriousness, these would be a lot better if they wernt practically upside down, you have good detail in many of these but these angles are killing them

| | | I used to be into the crazy angle things, it just learned it rarely works. Now i am super picky about having my photos straight. Straighten some of these up and they would be great. [last edit 7/7/2011 2:15 AM by urbexkeith - edited 2 times]

| | | i think once we first start we do the crazy tilts and angles, and then the more we learn the more we realize..."wtf was i thinking" lol

| | | angles need to be used to create a certain atmosphere / theme to a particular shot, and it needs to be used in just the right amount. A lot of these seem either too much (trying too hard, hack, or simply mimicking others), or too little (sloppy alignment, not knowing a camera / footing / space), which can be just as bad. I don't suggest you stop using the tilt, because if that's what you want to do then do it, and don't give a damn what others think.... but if you don't want to be an avant-garde photographer (read: most likely more a stubborn jackass than a pioneer who's got their head stuck up their ass so high that they think their shit is the sky) you should learn WHEN to tilt. sorry if that didn't make sense, I'm kinda tired. Time for bed.

| | | I think this may be relevant to this tilt thing that has been mentioned, but since it does RARELY work, your best bet is to find something and align yourself with it in stead of creating a perpendicular angle. Parallel seems to always work, especially when using walls to bring the subject matter together. The bathroom one is good because although the picture isn't incredibly full of subject matter it actually angles itself notice the stalls do this / \ it draws your eyes in. Hallways tend to have that effect too. The chair would have also created its own angles. Notice the pipe? Its not straight, drawing the eyes along it to the chair. The last one, with the rack focus, that one is very well done. Your detail is something your good at, now just learn to frame it and your golden.
