The provincial government owns the Soulanges Canal and (presumably) this little hydro generating station. The federal government gave it to them when it became obsolete after the opening of the Seaway.
It's sad to see it deteriorating so much. On the other hand, the chances of seeing the interior seem to be improving.

une des meilleurs choses a arriver a ce batiment etait le tournage du film "blades of glory" elle etait un orphelinat dans ce film. il y a eu beaucoup de renos pour rendre le lieu potable

l'artiste c'étais Rénald Piché de 1981 a je sais pas quand Il devait tout rénové mais ...je connais pas la suite
