Don't let them get to the point where they release them. Start shouting and reveal yourself. Funny though that I was more resolved to taking the bite and hoping the dog would just maul me and leave than I was to turning myself in.

if you mess with their dogs, it's only going to (rightfully) piss off the cops and earn you a felony instead of the chance of being let go with a citation.

There was an incident in Georgia not long ago where a burglar was running away from a K-9 unit. The guy shot the dog and the police shot the guy down. Some people may say that was a little extreme, taking into account the dog didn't die, but the guy had just killed a man and his son leaving behind a childless widow. The police were wanting a reason to kill this guy and they got it when he fired at their dog. http://www.freerep...news/1057819/posts

That's been proven not to work. Those dogs are ALMOST impossible to trick. The only thing that comes close to working is to have a female dog on heat in the area and they smell her more than they smell anything else. Even then if it's a well trained dog it has a high chance of keeping focused and finding what it's looking for.

K-9 = cop shooting at k-9 = shooting at cop = you will be shot

| | | Depending on the site you could possibly avoid the dog finding you if you could climb something high enough. Like Barry Cooper says in his videos about staying safe around cops with pot- dogs aren't good and smelling stuff up high away from their noses. Like if you were in a factory of some sort you might be able to climb something high and stash yourself till they gave up and assumed you got out. If my ass is low enough that it's on the menu, I'm givin up for sure though. Or could always add bear mace to your gear =p dawg approves

| | | Also depending on the spot; close doors behind you, cop dog or not, they can't open doors. Even if you get caught eventually, you'll hopefully avoid getting used as a chewtoy.

Are we supposed to accept that as fact, from someone who apparently didn't have the ^%#*& common sense to know that a police search dog will probably find you if you're hiding in a building, and was so astounded to learn that startling revelation that he felt obligated to immediately share their crucial finding here? I have spoken to a variety of US LE K-9 handlers about that very topic, and the answer is NO, a criminal shooting at/killing a police dog does not solely in itself provide justification for officers to shoot/kill the criminal. The criminal still has to be posing a direct, immediate threat to the lives of humans. Of course, if the criminal shoots the K-9 in the immediate vicinity of the human officers, they will properly assume they're being fired at & take appropriate action. Police K-9s aren't trained to attack if the target is being docile, only if running, making aggressive movements or have a potential weapon in their hand. If you were being passive, the dog should have just stood there & barked/growled at you, so if the cop told you you were lucky you didn't get bitten, he was just trying to knock more common-sense into you for future reference, or his dog isn't fully trained & certified yet.

Policy and practice don't have much to do with one another. If someone shoots, even if it is aimed directly at a dog and could not harm anyone else, there are sure as shit going to be shot. Details can be modified afterward as required to match the situation.

I go to the kennel to test these things out. Just as a trick the guard dog type of thing. It is actually fun getting your arm ripped out by a beast with a 550lb bite force.
|
I'm going to spray you in the eyes with bleach in a spray bottle if I ever meet you. You know, to test it out.
