i'm digging it.

only suggestion. for the top right hand side of the building where it becomes a little blown out. maybe you could try to darken it a little, or possibly darken the whole image? It might help with that.

otherwise great color on the bricks and awesome use of the lines all throughout this place

I'd straighten it so that the corner of the building is vertical and it's unfortunate that the top got cut off but it's not bad at all.

Both of the above are my thoughts exactly. It's a little blown at the top and the composition is a tiny bit off.
Great angle, just step back a bit so the top corner is in the top of the frame, center the building's corner, and make sure it goes perfectly vertical right on the center line of the frame.
To fix the blowout, turn down the ISO or the shutter speed, if your camera supports that.

It's a very good first try, though. You have an interesting photo.

Thank you for the constructive responses. I appreciate it very much, and I will definitely apply the suggestions that you have made. The trip was a little bit rushed, hopefully next time I'm there I'll have more time to get some more detailed shots. =)

Wow, it's just so ORANGE! Not a bad thing, though. I actually like the over-exposed look to it. Makes it look very sharp and contrasty and really exaggerates every crack and hole in the place. It's not muddy and flat like many amateur photos I've seen. If you have a camera that you can adjust the f-stop, try bracketing a few of the same shots if you can and see which one looks best in post. It's always easier to bring out detail from a darker photo than reconstruct something that's overblown, but otherwise, I really like the texture you caught.

I really enjoy the tones and color in this photo. The lines draw your eyes across the building which I find pleasing.
With that said, the sky is a little blown out and I would like to have seen more blue in it. it takes away from the building. I would try to adjust your contrast slightly but you have wonderful texture. I'm an amateur but those are my thoughts.

I think this is very good for a first try. Like others, I agree that the sky is a bit blown out, which happens to me all the time. Try using a faster exposure or smaller aperture (larger number) or both, or turn down your ISO. I think if you were to replicate this, you could tilt your lens up just a wee bit higher so the top of the building isn't cut off. This would make a nice clean line at the bottom since the rock thingy and the doorways wouldn't be there. However, I kinda like the doorways so it's your call. Back up a few steps if you want to keep them in the shot. I very much like the contrast and color here even if it's blown out. It can be hard to make a sky look good! I know I very rarely get it right.

Also, and this might just be a trick of the eye with all the angles of the bricks in the photo, but it looks kinda pixely. Like you saved the photo in a low resolution or uploaded it to a photosharing site that degrades the quality. I like Flickr for this reason, but if you're like me you'll wear out the free storage space in a heartbeat and it's $25/year, however I think it's well worth it.
