i remember when oshawa was still in business and worked with ivanhoe to devellop decarie square as a hypermarche. there was a bonimart with attached steinbergs. it was actually a well designed mall to make the most of the small lot. indoor and outdoor parking under the mall etc. what was a real killer was its location, northbound on decarie you still had to go through all the shit at jean talon. i remember aventure had a super store in there and when they went bankrupt they had a killer liquidation. continental liquidators uses the old steinbergs from time to time, usually a lot of great deals to be found

it's like a condensé of the Saint-hubert plaza from the 1990's, all at in the same place.

Pour fins d'archives.

I will definitely go take pictures there soon. But, I was also thinking of going in the shopping centre with my bicycle for fun. I wonder how long it would take to get caught.

I once rode my bike in Carrefour laval back in the day when stores didn't stay open till 9pm during the week.

as far back as i can remember that place was a shithole. kind of interesting shithole though, cuz it's so abandonned and depressing.

i grew up in tmr and even from there it seemed unattainably far.

I used to go at Jungle's Adventure in the basement as a kid, for birthday parties and such.

Maintenant c'est rendu à Laval:

Looks pretty much like the mall I remember...

well the dollarcinema is the most filthy cinema in montreal, the only time I went there, the bathroom was so flooded you couldn't walk it, the floors so sticky I lost a shoe. Everyone is drinking 40's and talking instead of watching a movie... good thing its only 1$

Ahahah yes.. me too my shoes stayed on the floor when I got up after Sin City !
But I was very glad to see it for 1$

(but the second time I saw Sin City it was for a small get together of 7 people in the legendary underground cinema in a Paris quarry..that is hard to beat .. hmmm )
