Nette Schultz Drains (introducing the Denton Drain Project)

So, I'm beginning an ambitious project.

I've noticed that Denton has some very well hidden-in-plain-sight drains that are prime for small-town drainers, and for a town the size of Denton they're quite large systems and very well inter-connected. They're also completely undocumented, as far as I can tell from talking to various city officials, there are maps of the individual systems but no one map or database containing all of them.

So, me and my rag-tag group of buddies are beginning a massive invasion of the Denton area drains and creating a mapped database showing the individual drain systems, as well as a detailed description of each drain's hazards and interesting features. So far I have 3 drains, the Bum Canals, Camden, and Nette Schultz. When we have a few more I'll release the Google Earth database.

In that light, presenting the Nette Schultz drain system.

1. The hike in

2. The twin RCPs

3. Amusing grafitti

That's all I got for now. There is lightning on the horizon, so I didn't want to get too deep into a storm drain. Right beyond the flash of my camera there is a large junction and several off shoots. I'll explore them to their end tomorrow or tuesday, weather and finals permitting.

Because it's here, it's cheaper than driving to Dallas/Ft. Worth, because I like drains, and because I can. :p
