|  | | | this is the first school i hit the other day. on that day i was wishing i had just driven straight to school 2 instead of stopping off here first but looking back now im glad i found this place too. it sits right off of the road leading into town but i was not able to find it at first. of the towns 140 some odd residents i didnt see one - until i noticed that ONE store that was still in business (though i would have sworn it was abandoned) i walked in to find two very old men sitting in rocking chairs. it looked like the only thing for sale was wrigleys gum and dr. pepper. i said 'have they demolished the old school or something?'
'naw son - she's right there' pointing across the street.
sure enough, she was.
pretty small school thats falling apart - but in the most beautiful way. the flooring is so bad in one area that i couldnt even get in to shoot a photo or two. there were wasps all over the place and it was freaking me out so i didnt spend as long here as i would have liked. ill give it another go before too long as im making a return trip to the other school with the gym/auditorium within the next couple of weeks to 're-shoot/explore' it.
regarding this school - much like the other one - i have only seen a handful of photos of it online and again - they by and large exteriors. ive seen two photos of the inside and they were taken in 2009 - one of the stove you will see in this post and another of the piano. the flooring in the 2 year old photo is intact. today the stove is leaning forward almost a foot and is about to just crash over as the floor beneath it has rotted out and collapsed since then. the piano was fully upright just 2 short years ago and now it is barely standing up. i dont know if this is from natural causes or if someone went in and further destroyed what is left of this wonderful abandoned school.

| | | | this is the only photograph ive ever seen of the interior of this school until i walked inside of it myself. you can see that the floor is in way worse condition now. this photo was taken in 2009 - crazy damage to the place in those 2 short years.
