|  | | | had the day off from work friday so i decided to go out and find this school. i went to a couple of other places before this (another school that ill make another post later on - this set has too many as it is!) wonderful place tucked in the middle of nowhere texas. in my research i have seen 2 maybe 3 photos of this place but they were all exteriors. until i shot it - i had never seen the inside. i cant imagine why someone hasnt been in here to shoot before. within the span of 24 hours i have had 3 people contact me to take them there for a shoot - a band and 2 models. the gymnasium/auditorium is AMAZING. the bleachers are in super good condition. the flooring underneath either basketball goal is about to give at anytime. i was trying to get a shot from the free throw line and the floor was very soft. closer in than that and it would have collapsed for sure. there were stairs leading underneath the flooring but i didnt get a chance to go down there. ive no clue what a school would keep under the bleachers and the basketball court. the stage is amazing. i could not believe it. the backdrop is hand painted - a beautiful forest scene. it reminded me of a my morning jacket stage setup.
i include 3 shots of the other school just to show what it looked like and the creepy slide that is still there. ill post about that place and the fully abandoned and full of shit house i found as well. but i didnt want to clown vomit and fish eye you guys to death so :/
i did use the 50mm a lot in the school and the standard 18-15 but my go to is and always will be the 10-17. i like still being able to zoom even if it is a fish eye. hope you like them. its a really amazing place. you feel like youve stepped back in time. a much better time.

west of fort worth and south of wichita falls. PM me and ill let you know exactly where it is. both schools are within 50 or so miles of one another with a few things scattered in between and around there. where are you in texas?

its worth your drive man - really. there are these two schools and not far from here are 2 abandoned churches and another school (or 2)
i want to come down to houston to explore the falstaff brewery - if youre willing to exchange info on sites we could meet up and explore together. been talking to some other houston explorers too - we need to network! we have a lot in texas to shoot but damn it takes forever to get anywhere!

completely - i really cant put into words how great this place is. my photos dont really do it justice. but thank you all for the kind words.
there is a bit of graffiti on a building that sits adjacent to the main structure. but even it isnt that bad.

other than this i didnt see any on the outside or inside of the big building. i just think its too remote for scrappers and graffiti heads to go out there. im so glad they havent. planning a return trip in two weeks - a few of you have already messaged me about it - if we can get a small convoy together that would be great!
