image heavy - i know. clown vomit - i know. sorry in advance.
to each his own, right? either way...
st. johns catholic church in bomarton, texas. the doors here are never locked. literally all are welcome.they even have a sign in sheet if you so choose. the last person to sign it was 5 days before i was there. perfectly placed in the middle of nowhere and isolated from the world. the steeple is just visible above the trees but if you werent looking for it you would never know it was there. an added bonus to this church is just across the road. completely obscured from view is what is left of the primary school. hopefully the fires burning to the south of here will stay down there (actually - i hope they go OUT!) if you live in texas or southern oklahoma it is without question worth the drive.

regarding pic 1---
i bought an IR filter recently and use it when applicable. this was one such time. even with a lens hood, me standing in the sun's path and a black neoprene wrap around the camera light still got in. i forgot to put the viewfinder cover on but damn...ill get it right before too long!

you can see the school across 277.
the other two schools i found last weekend are within 50 or so miles from here as well. planning another trip next weekend if anyone is interested hit me up and we can get a convoy out there...
