You know ... not half bad. I can recall my first shots from years back ... mine were completely filthy and sucked moose. So, ya .. using ur camera skills, I see. Nice ISO for long exposure, and middle of the road to hit the "sweet spot" f-stop on your lens there.

So .. ya, nice. The stairs go on FO-EEEVER! It's almost like watching ZZ Top video with the hot chick they always seem to put in there with legs that go on forever!

Cheers!

She reminds me of that one scene from that funny movie with that old guy and the legs go on forever :V

Well, thanks for the compliments. Been studying Photography 101 pretty hard since I bought this camera, so at least I know what to expect when I get out there.

I've noticed that using the gallery creator to attach them to the post seems to add a bunch of grain. They don't look nearly as sharp as they do on my computer, or even on my flickr.
So that's why everyone hosts from flickr!

I like the contrast between corners in #1. I also really like the machinery, though. Maybe choose one of those elements to draw out for a future shot? The machinery seems like a pretty versatile means of drawing the eye.

I'm this close to seeing an ethereal caretaker hobble down the steps in #2. Perhaps angle the frame a little more towards the top of the stairs...

Thanks, I agree. I wanted to get the pumps, the view from the window, and the grates over the tank in the floor in #1, but if the camera were moved to the left corner of the room, that angle would provide alot more action while still capturing the same stuff. Great idea!

Same with your suggestion in #2, only I was just trying to capture the interesting light play from the top of the stairs and the light coming in from the bottom of the door to the right. A superior angle would be to move the camera to the right and point it up, but knowing the room, that would be hard to capture without a wide angle lens, mostly because of space confinement, and all the ones I want to buy keep getting snatched up on ebay

Thanks for the ideas!
