| | World War II rations, anyone?! < on 4/15/2011 3:20 PM >
| | | (first and foremost...MY FIRST POST EVER!)
So my boyfriend (Dripik) recently took me to a quaint little house in Baton Rouge that he had previous explored with a friend, and we thank our lucky stars we did. It was a total JACKPOT!
On a side note, thanks Oliver Sterling for leaving so many of your possessions behind, for whatever reason. I'm sure you had a lovely home back in the day. I hope where ever you are, you, and your house alike, rest in peace.

7. There was a small attached Certificate of Registrar that I missed photographing somehow. This ration book was issued on May 7, 1942 to a 17 year old Oliver Sterling.

| | | Nice find indeed! You got some great shots. Did you take any other pics? Would love to see more of the rest of the house if possible. Looks like the person left behind a lot of cool stuff.

Thanks..I certainly will be posting more. Houses are my favorite locations too. Find Dripik - he's posted the majority of our exploring, including a few other houses.

| | | Oh yeah that house, cool place. I'm very against taking anything out of an abandonment, with the sole exception of if I find a stack of old bills, paperwork, work orders, etc, in a place like this were it's obviously not ever going to be needed again, I like to take the oldest one I can find and keep it as a souvenir. (I can't bring myself to take personal letters though, just a little private, ya know?) The oldest one in my collection is a handwritten receipt for some grain from October 12th, 192- something.

weeeellll, i'll admit, you won't be finding the rations book in that house anymore. i'd like to think we're keeping it a little safer now than where we found it inside that place. and i do have an eerie letter from another house we've been too..i looked up the return address and it was written by a convicted felon from a high security prison to his aunt. i'm considering writing him back.. but we do have a similar rule..only leave with paperwork that has dated, if we find it.
