A few from the farm.

This is a house I plan to revisit a lot this summer if it doesn't get torn down and hopefully my shots of it will improve.
I know I'm going to get shit for the HDR stuff but I'm ok with that so let me have it. The last one is the one I need the most help with. This room is cluttered and right next to a main road. If I go in there and close the curtains I'm afraid the neighbors will notice, there are two more windows in this room also facing the road...however it's packed with interesting goodies that I'm dying to photograph. Does anyone have any advice for being a stealthy photographer in front of windows during the day? I got down on my hands and knees and crawled around but those shots came out looking like a drunk person took them.

2 might be slightly overdone hdr-wise the rest are great.

i agree. though i don't know much about hdr, it makes the couch and pillow seem unnatural.

i love love love 4 even though i kinda have a weird hatred towards clowns! haha

Thanks guys. Yeah, HDR does tend to make things look unnatural. I have a weird love/hate relationship with it right now. I like HDR photography that you can't tell is actually HDR photography but I'm not near that level yet.

I am going to disagree with everybody here and say that I like #2 the best. What drew me to it are the earthy tones and an interesting texture. I hate overly cooked HDR. This doesn't feel feel overdone to me.

As for the curtains, go ahead and close them. Just peek outside to make sure nobody is looking as you open and close them. For the few hours that you are there, odds are slim that anybody will notice. Just remember to leave them open when you leave.

First you want to cast your invisibility cloak spell, then strip all of your clothes off so the neighbors won't see floating clothes through the window, then take your pictures without worry. You don't even have to worry about reflections in mirrors either! But make sure to post them all on this forum.
;)

Or I would also recommend simply closing the curtains after you make sure no one is watching, but just remember to open them after you are done. Even if you don't, I highly doubt the neighbors would notice one window's curtains being open vs closed, but maybe they have nothing better to do. You should be fine, and ummm, make sure to post those pictures!

I love how they don't have that painterly or grainy look the some people's HDR photos have. They actually still look like photographs.
Beautiful!

Very nice photos, can't really fault them being HDR. And I really like #5 as it is.

I know not what I do, but when I do it

I honestly love #2. I think could have played those textures out a little bit more in Photoshop (if that's what you use) .. but it's really cool looking.

Thanks all. I think I might use at least a couple of the first four for a school project but the window in the last one really bugs me.

I actually like #2 the most. I wouldn't say it was overdone, but if there is a situation in which to overdo it and still come out with a nice shot, that's probably it. You have very nice instincts, go ahead and trust them.

I have to say that #1 and #2 are my favorites. I (granted not knowing much about HDR anything at all) did not realize this (#2) was an HDR until I read your caption at the bottom. I really like the effect it gives the chair, a dark side and a light side, the life of a lonely chair. #1 simply intrigues me, I just continue to look at it, but not stare for eternity like a weirdo, The straight lines in the curtains meshed with the bubble-ness and cross-hatched lines of the bottle thing, really cool.

we found grinders, it caused a photogasm within myself...
