Fences are hardly a threat, even for big guys, I'm 6'4 and weigh a hefty 330 pounds (ex-linesman, haha), and I can still get over chainlink fences. Cowboy boots work wonders to get over chainlink, as long as you get some that are roomy enough to allow your ankles to move and roll freely and are point enough to fit in the links.
If not, see if you can't pull it up from the bottom enough to slip through.
Lastly, desperate measures, MAKE SURE you are not in sight because it takes a bit, is dead obvious, and looks goofy as shit. Get a 2'-3' step ladder, tie a 6-8' rope around the top step, throw the rope over the fence, climb up the step ladder and barrel over the fence, then use the rope to pull the step ladder up and over the fence, book it for the houses and stash the stepladder and rope somewhere out of site, and repeat to get back over when you leave.

Use both - google for mapping and searching for sites, then Bing for better up close shots and angles for entry, seeing open windows, etc.
And if you're lucky google maps can give you a street view with closeups of the building itself but most won't be so fortunate.
