|  | | | I decided to post this in the rookie forum because im some what of a rookie but i was planning this UE but shot it down at the last moment because i have this fear of being caught any ideas on how to get over this fear Ps sorry about any mistakes in spelling typing on my phone sucks =(

Weigh the consequences against your reasons for going. If you don't feel that the risk is worth it, perhaps this isn't the ideal hobby for you. You could stick to lower/no risk explorations at first to get acclimated, or you could just grit your teeth and bite the bullet, so to speak. A lot of people use this hobby as an outlet for adventure and an adrenaline rush. If you aren't one of them, and never will be, you could get your abandoned building fix by exploring places with permission, or taking tours.

And if you are caught, it almost definitely will not be as bad as you think. I've been caught a few times, and not once has anyone charged me, taken down my name, called the police, detained me... hell, none of them have even been angry. The worst I got was escorted off the property, and even then the fellow was nice enough to inform me of the history of the place (and even offered me a guided tour if I returned during the day)
Not everyone will have the same experience, but seeing as it doesn't really get all that much worse than a $75 trespassing ticket and maybe a pissed off cop, I'd say just do it.

| | | | Confidence is the key, and right now you don't have it. How to get it? Start small. You don't have to hit the big targets on your first go. Going into a small farm house or a drainage pipe can be just as fun as an abandoned factory or mall. Once you get a couple of small runs under your belt you'll be feeling more confident.
Also don't push yourself into something. Always trust your gut. If you think it looks to risky or you have a really bad feeling, don't do it. Don't let others pressure you into doing what you are not comfortable with either.

Do you speed?
How often do you get caught? It's no biggie. Be a bit cautious, look like you belong, and use some sense. Go do things and it'll get easier.

And I'm not being JUST an ass, start with smaller, more secluded structures. You will build up more confidence when you can keep an eye on the situation better and you will feel less sketchy eventually.

I agree with going to smaller places first, and it will get easier. In terms of getting caught, it all kind of depends on the location, owner's determination to catch people, time of day, how loud you are, etc... For the last one I would honestly suggest going alone the first time, at least. It may seem scarier but it's easier to conceal yourself, be quiet, and then you wont feel pressured to do anything too risky.
That being said, I honestly went drunk for a while, just to gain the courage!
