I skimmed quickly past number 54 and thought it was a dead body. Great pics I love abandoned amusement parks.

The Springs will be gone by the end of the year. If you go to www.lonestarthrills.com there are more pictures. Technically it wasn't an amusement park it was more of an arboretum. They had a sub ride (complete with mermaids), and a sky ride.

After I find my pictures of the abandoned Magic Springs I';ll post them. It closed in the early 90's, but has since reopened and makin money.

Went yesterday and played a little E&E with Op-for Po-Po.

Great place and the atmosphere with the constant droning noise of the wind blowing through the wires on the tower was intense.

I must have been seen by someone who cares because there was a cop car that drove by a bunch of times. I was This > < close to being seen at one point. That road behind the place makes things interesting with the multitude of joggers and nosy drivers.

Pics to come.

I didn't know the place was closed. I went there in the mid 80's. Ok, ok, showing my age.

It's not completely closed but the only thing still running is the glass bottom boat. It appears that they closed different parts of it at different times. I'd have to look at the picture again for exact dates but there was a sign by the sky tram that said it was in operation from the 60's to the mid 90's and the restaurant was open until 2007 I think. My guess is that everything on the other side of the river closed when the sky tram closed. I don't know for sure. Some of the stuff appears to be under renovation on the side that's not completely abandoned.

contact jeremy murphry at lone star thrills. he has a thing for von roll sky rides. he could most likely tell ya more about the place. von roll is the company that built the sky ride, and the observation tower. from what i remember what was across the lake was an old mill and walkin paths....the b-movie "alligator" was also filmed there, don't remember what year that was.
