Castle in Ireland

Hi guys. For my first location, I'd like to post something a little unique. I'm located in Florida, but when my family went on a vacation to Ireland, we couldn't resist checking out a few awesome sites. This castle in Ireland was built in the 1500's. Granted, this location is far from urban (sheep everywhere!), but it is exploration. Without mentioning specific entry details, it was technically trespassing, but in such a way that it was understood that, as long as we didn't damage anything, it was pretty much okay. As a result, we were able to take our time and appreciate the site.

It is hands-down the most amazing place I've ever been to. As you can see in the photos, there is no graffiti, only stones and vines. In the black-and-white photo, you'll notice a passage on the right, off of the ground. It's a stairwell, which is accessible from above (if you climb up the rear of the castle and descend through it). I went down those stairs in total darkness, and to my surprise, one of the stone steps was missing. I almost fell, but I managed to grab hold of a wall and stop myself.

Beautiful site and great photos! The people who live in that white house you can see in one of the pics are soooooooo lucky. Ruins in the back yard!

Very true. Not only that, but it's on a beach, too, and there are several other ancient ruins within a mile (over 2000 years old). Lucky them xD

How 'bout an overview shot? Surely you got an overview shot?

Well, I'm pretty sure that that's what the first photo is.

That looks extremely verdant and beautiful. Great pictures, and a great location with a cool history.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

I love this kind of stuff, great shots. Great to see somewhere not covered in graffiti for once, cool find.
