Don't worry if you don't get in the first time, it's much better to come home empty handed than with a nice trespass or B&E ticket.
I'd say either wait for someone else to bust out a window and then hope in or else buy a grappling hook or a ladder and check the roof access.

Thank you very much for the positive feedback i'll keep an eye out for that.. I'm hoping too get permission for a few abandonments that I have stumbled onto here in the Austin area so I may get some better shots..

I'd go in. You neve know what's in there till you go and there's nothing at stake. If nothing else it looks like a highly visible location, which means it'd be good practice at staying unseen.

Don’t forget Jack in the box! They didn’t have any in Cincinnati Ohio when I lived there for a few years they just had the commercials for it..
