| | SoCal (Orange County) people...who wants to 'splore? < on 3/16/2011 3:36 AM >
| | | Hey gang, Been busy with "real life" lately but I'm really itchin' to get out and check some locations out. There were a couple buildings I wanted to see in the last year that have been torn down; I'm hoping to see the others before they meet the same fate! I'm down for just about anything. I've got climbing/rappelling/ascending gear, but no photo gear. If anyone wants to get together in the near future, lemme know!

| | | No worries, whereabouts in LA are you? I don't mind heading up that way if you had any spots in mind. Maybe a couple others in the area will pop in. I know the weekend of the 25-26 I'm around, if anyone wants to tentatively plan for a 'splore on/around those dates?

| | | Hey I'm in OC too. I have some climbing/repelling gear as well along with a great camera. I've been trying to find abandoned buildings around here but it's pretty difficult so I've mostly been mountaineering lately. You should pm me if you want.

| | | Mountaineering in OC? How do you deal with the oak? Where do you like to go? If you're into draining, there's some drains you could hit - but mostly they're just long walks underground with a snotsicle every once in a while. I used to live right across from the Spectrum and there was a nice (Haha, a nice drain) one I'd do from time to time. Plus an "abandoned" bridge to nowhere to practice SRT on right there too. | | | I like going to Holy Jim however there's so much poison oak there. Sometimes I go to the Angeles national forest (where the Los Flores mine is), I actually found skeletal remains of a person while looking for that place. However, I'm not going to post pictures publicly. Anyways I sometimes go to Joshua Tree and mt Baldy which are my favorite.

| | | Been a long since I've been on a rope and I just dug my gear out of the garage! Ether...what's your schedule like? Dav...I'd love to know where that bridge is! Also, that tunnel sounds pretty close to my reserve base. Where is the opening you use?! Hit me up! PS, Panamint City before it gets too hot?? | | | I'm right by downtown(echo park) and there are some places to drain, and a coupla of abandoned hotels... I visited some drains down in Culver City, I'm looking to go again soon...I usually go solo but I'd be down for a group...I know a really good POE.

| | | Would be fun to explore that drain and bridge with someone, also, the Irvine landfill (Frank R. Bowerman Landfill) is quite a sight. I forgot to bring my camera the time I went so I'm planning on going back. I know the back way into it; just a small hike from my house. My schedule is usually open on the weekends and some days of the week due to work. @Relocate I would love to see some abandoned hotels!

| | | >(Frank R. Bowerman Landfill) how did you access it? I can only think of 1 tunnel and 1 bridge that go under the 241

This! If anyone wants to talk locations and dates, feel free. I don't know enough about the area (as far as UE goes) so I'll wait for someone else to pull the trigger on making plans and I'll tag along!

| | | I'm interested as well, abandoned hotels sound great and I'll be willing to check out the landfill. I'm not prepared for any climbing/repelling as I don't have the necessary gear.

| | | I'm gonna check that out. I'm always afraid of cameras like the one at the end of jeffery RD, especially it being Irvine.
