| | | Posted by ExploringOhio Considering that tower's a candelabra, he had at least two antennas worth of wattage passing through him up there. According to the IEEE and ICNIRP guidelines for RF exposure a 200lb male would start having acute health problems at something just shy of 400W within the aforementioned 100'. Each of those antennas would be pumping out far more than that. Even LPTV stations transmit up to 15kW, so a major station candelabra like that would be BIG ERP figures.

That tower pumps out 425 kW http://www.fcc.gov...in/tvq?call=WWJ-TV

| | | Amidst all the speculation and tech theories, it still seems more reasonable that he went up in his fruit of the looms than that he shed them due to heat. It's more likely he would have turned back down, rather than shed clothes to continue due to heat. Unless what you are saying is, he got to the top, and only then realized he was baking and started hating his clothes. In that case all I can say is: oooooooooh....ahhhhhhhhh..,.,.oh fuck.............ohh ahhh.....I've always loved you Rev. Jones....ooooh ahhh...hawt hawt hawt. sorry, but I harken back to the original link and the amazing work-a-day blah blah the commenters to the paper had about the incident. In these cases I always find it really amazing that generally there is no media follow up. In this case, it's still early, but a good bet we will never hear nothing about it again, unless the poor guy was well born.

| | | Not if he went blind beforehand and he couldn't climb back down. Hypothermia causes people to shed their clothes It wouldn't surprise me if he acquired mild hypothermia from the climb up and then the sudden heat caused a rapid desire to disrobe. It takes even the best of us an hour or more to climb something of this magnitude.

Always my first guess when someone is found dead naked somewhere where naked doesn't make sense.

Just thick enough to keep the steel from sucking the heat out of your hands is perfect, even on slow climbs. Also, ankles heat up first? Good to know ... and going to make me paranoid. Thanks.

Here's a source if you're interested: http://www.rfsafet..._Heat_Sealers.html " The shields are mechanical systems that can fail. If the shield does make electrical contact with the work surface, or platen, even a one-inch gap can lead to very high RF exposure for an operator. Exposure to RF fields at heat sealer frequencies can cause current to be induced into the operator. Thes induced currents are most concentrated in the ankles, where the cross-sectional area is smallest. When an operator complains of “hot ankles,” it is a good indication of significant induced currents."
How much you think for a RF suit? http://www.radhaz.com/projects.php?id=34 Can't find any prices listed, that can't be good for recreational climbers on a budget it also apparently only comes in white which can't be good for getting high at night... | | | Whatever. Here is where you can see some footage of the poor guy mangled in a corner at the topish area of the tower. There was loading difficulty but it did come thru. With the revealing of his race, I do predict there will be scant details forthcoming. http://www.foxnews...michigan/undefined

| | | Speculation: murder. Perfect spot for a body if you're motivated and experienced. And nuts. Or just really strong. Or bored. My guess is... ummm... Tor Johnson.
