One of my first shots with a dslr (Im new at it)

First time out with a dslr. Its a Canon Rebel XS. Nothing special but i hear they are a good starter camera. How did I do for one of my first?

I would straighten it and then crop out the grass in the foreground. Add some minor sharpening, maybe a little levels and curves in post.

I kind of like the allure of both the original and the post processed image you posted. I think the processed image gives a bit of an older feel. As if the picture were taken 30 years ago. But seeing the two I could see myself using the original with cropping as a background. Nice work to my photo. I still do not have PS as of yet. Working on it.

I'm as Canadian as it gets.
