well break this into 3 stories.

story 1

We see a cracked up dry desert like plain. we think its dry... birdman steps in it...he sinks down about 5 inches...not good.. we realise its mud. about 5 foot deep suck you in mud.

I went over there last weekend too but had the kiddos with me. Didn't want my adventurous 8 year old getting stuck between a rock or in the weird mud......May venture back next week and check it out. Cool place though. I remember when you used to be able to get into Ft. Travis ( on Boliver) easier. It was very similar. Seems to be somewhat more secured now though, which is a bummer. We used to sneak in there a lot when I was a kid.

Also, out of curiosity, did you just walk over the big boulders/jetty by the bay to get there?

"stuck in mud up to his knees" appears to be where most of us find our ankles...

Maybe you could use waders or sno-shoes? =)

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

whoa... I wonder what kind of toxic hazardous materials exist in that mud.

That's some gnarly mudpond you guys have. Nasty!
