Abandoned Theater- Denton Tx

Sup guys.. Went to check out the abandoned theater in Denton listed in the database and I have some background on it, was born and raised here in Denton.

The theater was built in the 80's, and operated briefly as an independent drive in with two gravel lots, then shortly after it bombed when the first two full-on movie theaters opened in town, and University of North Texas acquired it and used it as an amphitheater / black box until about 1996 when it fell into disuse and has been sitting till this day.

We decided to check it out as it was very close and we were jonesing for a trip. The gravel/ overgrown entryway is easy enough to find but don't think about driving back there unless you have a truck, and it's an easy enough, albeit creepy walk.

We pulled in around 11pm, and the place didn't seem like much, but it was creepy as hell. We made it to our entry point and immediatly smelled cigarette smoke very strong and heard some footsteps. Seconds later Surge's cell phone went off, his ringtone is an audio clip of someone yelling "OH BOB SAGET!!!" and we freaked and split for the truck. When we realized it was just the phone we had a good laugh and went back in. We searched half of the building and didn't find anyone, but we all heard footsteps on the right side of the building and whispers several times so we stayed out of there. Someone had definitely been doing something in there, the tires strewn about in all the old database pics had been neatly stacked and a lot of the debris had been cleared up, but there was fresh food trash everywhere. Lots and lots of interesting graffiti, including the standard pentagram and SS nazi symbol.

Here's where shit gets creepy. The old hobo bedroom was still there but there was what looked and kinda smelled like a pool of blood on the mattress. We got the hell out of there after that and outside, near the truck we found a small pile of bloody clothes, including a VERY bloody shirt.

When we got home I pulled the pics off the camera, and I noticed that lots of the pics had those weird "paranormal" orbs all over them, there was no falling dust or debris, we would have seen in the flashlight and my camera has NEVER picked up anything like that. Paranormal? Maybe, depends on what you believe.

All in all, I'd say it was a very interesting place but not really worth a special trip. Great if you're in the area.

Hope the hobo was okay

Also, pretty awesome location. Did you get any other shots of the graffiti?

alot of times cameras will pick up even the smallest particulate matter and shows "orbs" if they are clear or milky then its dust/bugs

if they "create" their own light and you cant figure out how its doing that. its probably a ghost and jay and grant will be there shortly (ghosthunters)

No, we were pretty creeped out and didn't stay long. Soon enough I'm sure I'll wind up out there and take some much better pics.

I don't blame you. You should probably go in the daytime...don't wanna get shanked and end up like that hobo.

Nah, Mario and Luigi (Jason and Grant) don't buy into orbs, and only go hunting for the elusive specters known by their markings of numbers and green tint. Typically in high denominations. It's said they they store these green ghost, or Dollars if you will in a way quite similar to the way the ghost busters stored them, in a safe, or a bank if you will. Ok that was a really long winded snarky way of saying they're only in it for the money lol, but they are! Have you seen how buff Jason has become and how many tattoos he has visible? Geesh. \

Anyway, thanks for posting a new location.
