|  | | | I did some driving around and I'm pleased to say that I have found some great locations for the meet up that I will be hosting soon.
First up I think this is the location Raticus saw that scared him or creeped him out or what ever it was.

| | | | I've only been here in Shreveport for 6 months and this place has an amazing amount of abandonments. There are whole sections of this area that are abandoned. Also I'm pretty sure I found a homeless camp think I'll go speak to them about some abandoned places, probably take them some food, water and smokes to make them more talkative about some places.

| | | | I've wanted to shoot that hotel for a long time. Visited there once with the intention of night-shooting about 2 years ago...place was totally overrun with homeless guys, and I could hear a couple inside arguing and fighting. I decided it probably wasn't worth it. Hopefully it's better now.

Last time I tried the first building (maybe a year ago?) we set off an alarm. Someone who used to post here got into another part of it though and didn't have any problems. If I remember correctly, the part he was in ended up being incredibly boring; gutted, just concrete columns. I have no idea what the rest of the building is like.
Every time I've tried the hotel I've been asked politely by the residents to leave. It's been almost two years since then though, so who knows what it's like these days. I'd be thrilled if we could get in there.
Zion's congregation has been good about keeping the place sealed up tight. The only day I saw a good entrance, I was with a friend who was too scared to go in. It was sealed the next day. =( When I was home for Christmas it looked more feasible though if you're willing to climb a little (which is pretty easy on that building). The congregation is still around; I've been thinking of just giving them a call a seeing if someone will allow me to photograph the place if I can't get in on my own one of these days.
I saw more than one open entrance at Ogilvie Hardware about a month ago.

In regards to the Pea Farm Prison - we should organize a drunken witch hunt and try to stumble around the woods and find the Women's Unit. I've had people tell me it exists, and I've had people tell me it doesn't. Personally, I dunno. I've walked the woods from the GE plant fence to the next road over, and from the road with the water park all the way back to these little shanty port-o-potty looking things and never found it.

The Pea farm is a definite place to hit up and I think I may have seen the women's unit from some aerial photos of the place. But that may be some thing else entirely.
I'll be doing some recon's of the locations next weekend when I get back from my business trip next week.

I know where it is, but I'm not totally sure about the street. But the building I'm talking about, it's not that it scarred me, or creeped me out. But it was the location I refer to in another thread where there were 2 limousines parked in the back entrances, with the building door open, and guys in shades and VERY nice suits inside.
Maybe it was just the friendly Shreveport water meter reader dudes having a hard time finding the meter. But yeah, I kinda don't think so. And yeah, it didn't look like the kind of guys or situation that I wanted to find myself involved in.
But again, I don't think that is the building. I'll have to check. I may have some exterior shots.

We had like 12 or so at the last Austin meet up, and it worked ok. You just have to do things in groups. Ironically at the second location, when a few of the people left is when we ran into trouble.
