| | Bank One Pasadena*ghost alarms and checks* < on 1/18/2011 5:48 AM >
| | | my friends and i ,(houstonurbex) and 2 other non registered friends, were checking out southmore medical plaza on how to get in.Grapple , and saw this across the street. so we thought wed do some side exploring, this place was kinda eerie, iunno why. we found a crazy room upstairs with 100's of checks and while we were up there we heard what we thought was a car alarm but it seemed to come from within the building (vault alarm?) we waited and after awhile it just seemed to stop/disappear. made no sense.

| | | Just a side note on the building. It seems really sketchy, almost like roofs will cave in at any second. Might have been from the rain but still was not the safest place to explore.

| | | The first person on the employee directory is the father of my old friend Chris Able. I showed him some scouting pics I took of the place and he told me his dad used to work there.

| | | JUST FOR EXTRA INFO: Backslider/MrsBackslider and my group (Ghost,Birdman,Unregistered, myself) went back here sunday afternoon place was stil the same but drier (wheeewwwww) went into more rooms than last time basement still flooded (dont risk without waders or waterproof boots) found thousands? of dead bees. so summer for this place must be crazy found some cool court cases from a lawyers office (death certificates, divorce papers/pedophile case(ekk!)) all in all it was a great trip. also met some friendly crack heads at the end..though they "hid" from us...in plain view...silly crackheads

| | | Ive seen that same door elsewhere, its identical to the ones used at a local AFB nuclear weapons storage bunkers, they were alarmed by ADT even inside a secured USAF base with 2 combinations they felt the need to add a magnetic switch inside

Wow, the vault was closed? It was open when we went in there a few months back. Just sux because there are so many damn windows in that place that you can't use flashlights much at night. It seems like that basement is going to always be flooded. My friend mentioned getting waders for that, but dunno if he will. lol Southmore is pretty cool too although a whole bunch of the doors to the floors were locked, which was a real bummer. The morgue is pretty cool and freaky at the same time and boy does it stink REALLY bad in that are. So just a heads up if you ever get in there. Hopefully I'll post pics soon.

No, the vault wasn't closed all the way but it was wedged up on the ramp on the ground so I had to push that massive door off of it lol. We should be going to southmore pretty soon, just havent been able to yet.

| | | You might consider wearing a respirator (if you don't already) while exploring the Bank One building. I may be a stickler when it comes to respiratory protection, but from what I hear, the costly nature of asbestos removal is why this building remains the way it is... If you don't have the means of acquiring one, I can hook you up.

Oops, too late. Now I know for next time if I ever go back. I guess it makes sense of why it's still there after all these years.

Yeah,I believe it happens more than a lot of people realize... I imagine its probably a huge headache for the property owner as well. If you can't dish out the funds for asbestos removal, then you are just kind of stuck... and paying taxes to boot.
