I live in Springfield Missouri, and have been exploring old places since I was a kid ( I'm 25 now).
My Dad got me into going in old abandoned farmhouses, factories, warehouses, etc.
Like me, he has had a fascination with old, abandoned, off limits places, and also taught me basic safety, like making sure the floors are solid, watching out for unsavory people, and just plain common sense!
As for me, a few of my other interests are restoring "vintage" (old) telephones, messing with electronics, (especially wireless devices!), and being outside when it's not to friggin cold! Oh, and I also have a fascination with barcode scanners! Yes, I know I'm a geek, so what? 
Hopefully I can find some of the pics of different places I've been in. I don't have a lot, but they're pretty good nonetheless. I also have a few interesting stories I might post, after all its all about sharing our experiences, right?

But on the streets, they are getting scarce. As for hacking them, the ones you see now aren't as easy to bypass as the "Ma Bell" ones were, where playing the right tones would simulate coin signals. My best advice is to read about payphones on the various hacker sites to get an idea of how they work, and go from there.
