As I said, I am newish to the area but not to UE. I used to do a ton back in New England and I am just starting to get back into the groove of things out here after moving.

A friend of mine from school mentioned a Sanitarium on a street off of Osuna (don't want to be too specific. if you know about it you know what I am talking about). I found it on the map and I might leave early when I go to pick up my sister since it is on my way to her school and scope it out a bit. Anybody know if there is any security and what it is like/if it is worth the trip? I have heard meth labs, biker gang territory, the owners are crazy, dogs, and that it is easy to get into and nobody saw anybody. Lots of mixed messages. I know where it is and everything, I just want to know if anyone has been there and if it is worth the trip, what the risk is, and if anyone is up for a little explore this weekend or the next time I am in town if it is worth it?

here it is on the map. I heard it is pretty much gutted and trashed. there are a couple other places on my list for my last couple of days here or the next time I am back from school.

I have been there a couple times, and it's kinda a pain to get into to be honest. The house to the right is occupied, and the people there do keep an eye on the place. The people that live there are not friendly, though I personally did not have a run in with them (a few friends did though). It is not in the bests place in the city and it is gutted. There is a lot of graffiti in there, some of which is really nice. I would say the best thing to do is just watch yourself and keep an eye out.
If you are going down to Cruces on I25, there are a few abandoned towns down there. There is not much to see, but if you have the time it's worth the stop.

Thanks for your help! I actually am on my way back to school in Cruces on Monday and if I leave early enough I might make a couple of stops along the way.
