This sucks on many levels. First, gutter punks are people too. They make up a unique part of this city. I feel so horrible for their friends/family. Also, two dogs died  I've probably run across some of these guys in my exploration of Katrina abandonments.
What this means for abandonments and Urbex: they are definitely cracking down on tearing down and tightly closing most abandonments. Also, police are definitely watching out and searching abandonments more than ever. Some of the places I've explored are already gone.

| | | | One of the guys that died was a friend of a bunch of my friends. I had never met him but they're all really upset about it. I'm worried about them cracking down as well. This one school that we had scouted a few weeks ago had metal covering all the entrances within a few days of this happening. Total bummer.

edit: And that's really going to gut their community - losing 8 people in a night. Honestly I'd think foul play must be involved if two of the group hadn't escaped the fire.
