Hey guys,
First time exploring and photographing an abandoned place.
It's a Psychiatric Hospital for the criminally insane, most people who live around Sydney will know about it.
Shot with a D300s and a Tokina 11-16mm lens.
Anyway Enjoy.

I started off thinking these were very good exposures.

Then around 4 I thought it was a bit overexposed, but still altogether decent.

5 seems just slightly off, like one of the HDR layers wasn't aligned correctly.

That said, if these are all HDR, I think you did a pretty damn good job on them.

Now I'm a bit biased against HDR, I think it's sort of played out and abused, but I can see it's usefulness and how it can enhance photos.

That said, 1 is great, 3 is even better, 5 is alright, and the others are good compositionally but I personally I think I would like them better if they weren't HDR. Especially the hallway shots. The HDR makes it look very flat. And like Steed said, some of them seem just a bit overexposed.

Great first abandoned shoot though. And like I said, I'm a bit biased against HDR so don't take it personal, and if you're really into HDR and are happy with the outcome, then by all means keep doing it and keep posting them.

thanks for the comments.

you're probably right steed with number 5. i was shooting handheld. so there is a high chance it's off.

i'm starting to think that hdr is abit over the top.
so i'm going to steer clear or use it so its unnoticed

i'll post some of the non hdr ones soon from that day.
cheers guys
