I meant that central terminal can be done without a tour. But a tour can be good

No problem... but word is that the Richardson one was booked up before the event was announced.

I was interested until I saw this and ROF's posts. I miss checking out the interior of the H.H. Richardson Complex.

So, after spending a couple years providing advice to the main person at the restoration corporation of the Richardson, they sprung on photographers wanting to attend this event a photography waiver that was ridiculous. All photos taken during the event were to be the copyright of the corporation and the photographer could only make minimal use of them. This demand was totally unacceptable to me, so I withdrew from the event. My thoughts on it are posted here: http://www.seangalbraith.com/photonews/ (latest 3 postings)

And I'm glad I did. I'm told from someone who went that it was a total waste of fucking time, and she lives across the street from the place. The only parts people could see (with one minor exception) were the under restoration main admin and one ward. The exception was one kinda decaying hallway, that they weren't allowed to walk down more than about 10 feet.. and it had a bunch of construction equipment laying about. It was a total joke.

As a fellow photographer who's also concerned about maintaining control of my intellectual property, I applaud your actions.

Yokes, I brought up this issue today with an IP attorney who I know, who also does exterior tours of the H.H. Richardson Complex for Buffalo Tours, and her thought on it is that the waiver was done for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and that the rights would be going to the Trust, considering that it's the organization that's doing Buffalo:Unscripted. Any thoughts?

They are incorrect. The NTHP had a separate waiver (which included slip and fall liability stuff), which I didn't have any problem with.

I mentioned this response to her. She said that she doesn't really know why they would have such a waiver, and finds it to be odd. Have you gotten a response back from the RCC since you withdrew from the shoot?

The person I'd been dealing with, who seems to over see things with an iron fist, is paranoid that people will use photographs for evil purposes. I'm not sure how this is possible, but there you go. Her response was "we will not see eye to eye on this".

The outside building and track ares, but the main tower is sealed up like a drum now with constant security isn't it?
