Abort The Resort! (Happy Turkey Day).

November 6th.

Day 2 of the weekend trip.

We woke up walked out the front door went about 500 feet to our left and BAM abandoned resort, nice isn’t it. We came up to this place with a cautious but unworried domineer, of course we then nearly walk into a truck parked along side the building, the truck wasn’t abandoned but if anyone was on the property it appeared that they would be in a small (but nice) shed with the door open. We continued on past the truck and into the building, at first we were more than disappointed. Ply wood floors bare 2x4 rooms and a few concrete blocks. I didn’t give up on the place right then and there and I’m glad I didn’t because the indoor pool was insane.

Once we were all done shooting up the place we drove 20 minutes down the road to a smaller sized but still large inn. We stopped at a road side stand before exploring said inn, had a damn good bit beef BBQ sandwich and saw a wood sculpture grave yard. We then went to the spot, decided parking out front didn’t seem risky so we did. We got inside to find, what’s this? 2x4 walls and a scrapped building… Oh well the exterior was juicy so we shot it for a few minutes.

After that onto a fairly recently shut down resort of a lake side. We went around back to the roller skating rink, explored that stuff all up, went for the main resort when we heard loud crashing sounds and then saw a car in the interior court yard. So we then decided to probably not go inside, then went around front to shoot. At this point we were confronted by a man who was the most un-comprehensible person I’ve ever heard. He made what seemed to be jiggling sounds at us, eventually I made out him saying “I’m*jiggle sound* Cops”’ I then said bye and walked to our car.

This whole day was getting weird but we didn’t give up, we hardcore explored an abandoned putt putt then drove around BS and I saw a pretty neat abandoned house. Then we went back had dinner and drove back on out to an abandoned Drive in theater where I then said “awesome I don’t even have my remote” and it resulted in blurry grainy pictures that I didn’t bother with.

Then we slept again.

A mighty fine set if I do say so myself. Some old favorites and some places I have yet to see.

Glad you had fun up here.

Yeah me too, I've been trying to find this one ( I believe I saw one of your sets of it) forever but just can't seem too. I've been up there an probably driven by it but who knows.

you should really try using full camouflage. i've found it incredibly successful in daytime missions.

Yes but camouflage becomes completely useless once inside a building. The other problem I have with it is when you do get caught "why are you wear camouflage?" "because I wanted to blend into the trees...??). Then you end up in trouble. Sometimes, and usually in my case the more casual and oblivious you look, the better.

I think I'll have to visit for #16

The Viaduct runs through the Callowhill Loft District, which is overrun with hipsters. This is just another one of those things a hipster would probably do.

Awesome work man, sounds like a good time. I really like 14. Do you shoot in RAW at all? Maybe try and bracket so some of those blow outs could be saved. Regardless, those shots are still great.

Actually I only shoot in raw but my camera has a problem with bracketing and it never turns out so I just go with the flow. I do layering sometimes to but it usually ends up funky looking.
