I'm a minor and I usually explore with people my age, but when I go to meets the adults don't usually seem to mind. I don't think age makes much of a difference compared to common sense and respect for the site. If you're gonna get caught you could try to play it off like you weren't exploring together, but there's no guarantee that a cop is gonna believe that.

I would definitely advise against going anywhere with unpredictable hazards (ie; drains)

I'd actually rather go draining with a minor than in a building as drains are very low risk for getting caught.

The sign said "Anybody caught trespassin will be shot on sight"
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey! What gives you the right?" http://www.flickr.com/photos/evman/

Hahaha, maybe I'm a jerk but I would wait until we got into the middle of a building to announce that I was 16 or whatever. The older people would skitter a bit. I would be worried about my parents being called if I was caught trespassing, as they have to contact my parents. ("How could you get caught? Stupid child of ours!") Although when I was younger I wasn't worried about getting a record, and I was only sort of worried about what would happen to older strangers. Despite that, I was not stupid when I started exploring at a young age. I did what I was told and I never got caught.

I think that is the difference, don't explore with stupid minors. I'm not a minor anymore, but if there's one about, and they don't listen to their elders, that could get in great big trouble for being there with them, they don't belong there. I've also explored with a lot of stupid people who aren't minors, it goes both ways.

i.e. "You go hide somewhere in the building and leave later! Go around a different way! You don't know us!"

Exploring = Risk.
Trespassing = Risk!
Trespassing with strangers = Risk risk risk!
Planning on exploring with a minor = Risk reduced due to planning.

You know where this is going... http://flickr.com/photos/spoonifur/

Well, if you don't act like an arse, people won't be so questioning about your age. [not saying you, personally; more of a you, generally.]
You seem respectful, therefore some won't care.

Safe firearms/explosives handling, what not to light a fire with (diesel fuel is OK, regular gasoline is a no-no), wild animal tracking, weather prediction...I could go on, but I think you get the point.

This might be a silly question, by why not regular gas?

Regular gas evaporates like a mofo, filling the whole area with explosive / flammable fumes, so it will jump up and burn you.

well seeing as iam still a minor i think its kinda important to introduce teens (make that mature teens) to these types of adventures at the right time i didnt get into urban exploring until i was 14 it teaches us to respect these buildings and not to vandalize or steal you know the whole take nothing but pictures concept personally age doesn't affect me cause i dont have my license yet so as long as i pitch money for gas and theres a solid plan i say let the games begin!

very important things to know so when they come back with friends to get drunk, they know what to properly torch the place with.

The Misandry around these parts is redonkulous. Sorry I was born with male anatomy.
