| | | In a word: no. If you want an easy way to find interesting locations or an easy answer, then find another hobby. Nothing ever worth having comes easy. If you want maps, then go out and make your own or find them. Go to the library, search public records, etc. Google is also your friend, as are Google Earth and Bing Maps. Put a little effort into it. It'll be worth it. [last edit 11/12/2010 2:58 PM by bouncewiggle - edited 1 times]

| | | 1) Read the rookie forum FAQ's before you post, to get an idea of how things work. 2) Be prepared for some sarcasm and unhelpful replies, as people frown upon giving handouts to newbies (rightfully so). 3) Something that may actually help you rather than frustrate you... http://uea.ca/ and http://tinyurl.com/UECALGARY Use the later link to make contact with other Flickr members from Calgary and see if you can meet up or persuade them to reveal locations. Some locations are listed in the Flickr page itself. 4) Come back and post your photos and do us proud.

| | | Google for "[your city or town or county or state or province or geographic area] [vacant or abandoned or brownfields or redevelopment or demolition or plant closure or etc]". Also search local newspaper's websites. Comb through results. Search more to find addresses for promising leads. Map them online. Drive around and confirm findings. Find that 25 percent are demolished, 25 percent are redeveloped, and at least 30 percent are actually still in use. Make a map of the remaining few sites. Rinse, repeat. Done! Or, blow tons of money that you could have spent on booze on gas instead, driving around shitty parts of town for hours. No, seriously. This is how it's done. It's awesomely fun.

The site may be pretty well dead but that doesn't mean that all of the locations found inside of it are beyond exploring. I think he will find it more useful than the snarky replies so far.

Well, I will be helpful then, and caution him that any site that is well enough identified on that site, has like a fleet of cops waiting to arrest whichever random person happens to walk along there. Albertan police do not put up with urban exploration.
