| | Looking for a place < on 10/8/2010 2:15 PM >
| | | My husband (backslider) and I are looking for a location to have a photo shoot done. We have decided that it was time to have some professional photos done together. My sister-in-law is just getting her photography business started and I thought this would be a good opportunity for her to shoot some where other than in a park or at a wedding. Our plan is to get into our UE gear and find an abandon building to do the shoot in. Sooooo, I wanted to find a place that has easy access, low risk and that wouldn't require her to get too dirty. I had a place in mind in Galveston on Church Street, but have yet to scout it out. Has anyone been in there? It looked pretty easy to access and low risk from the street. Any location suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We live in the Houston area. Thanks in advance for the help....

There are several on this forum who have been into & photographed the old Falstaff Brewery in Galveston, I stopped by briefly to case the entry (which IS dead easy), but got caught up shooting other places in the Galveston area and never made it back to shoot it before I had to return to Dallas. Two things to consider about that place: 1. It's in a pretty bad neighborhood; lots of thuggish looking foot traffic. 2. No great place to leave your ride, at least with any reasonable degree of confidence that it, or it's stereo system and wheels, will still be there when you return. So If Galvatraz is your thing, there are a couple other locations I can point you to down there, all less dicey than the Falstaff. Like this place...nice location with a bay view...

| | | You could dress up in bowling outfits and go to Bellfort Lanes here in South Houston... Access there is pretty self explanitory. Not too terrible neighborhood either. Just have to suck it in a little to squeeze in the "entrance". I have another secret place that I will PM you... Want to keep that gem a secret...

| | | Thanks guys for the suggestions. This really helps with the hunt... Imbroglio: Those are some great pics and locations. Are those the bunkers on the east end of the island? AntiParadigmProductions: Thanks a bunch for the PM. We will definitely be checking that location out.

| | | I agree with Imbroglio on this. The Church street location is probably not the best spot to go to take your sister. It is not in the best area and from what I understand from talking to other explorers, access has changed.

| | | Stopped at falstaff and was spotted by a crackhead woman and a guy wearing construction worker get up from inside the building. Woman started screaming at me to go. "GO GO GO GO!!!!" As I left I waved to them. Made it out to the bunkers but like the one time Price went out my foot went through the surface mud. Not very fun. Thought it would have dried up by now. Nope.
