Building Credibility and Props

Hey guys,

I'm a new member, long time floater on the forum, and mainly a photographer. I am 21 and located in Newfoundland, Canada.

I want to be embraced by the community, what else can I do besides just posting?
Also, can I be adopted by a high level member for guidance and help?

Cheers,
- Matt

All you have to do for people to get to know you and respect you (in the internet sense) is just post photos and stories of your explorations, meet up with locals and have them vouch for you, and weigh in on any discussions you feel the need to contribute to. The more you put out there, on the internet and in real life, the more people will trust you.

reckless thoughts abide; anachronistic and impulsive.

Since this is a forum, posting is really going to be your best bet. Without that, you're completely invisible to the community.

You'll especially want to be active in your regional forum so that you can get to know other explorers in your area. Plan a meet-and-greet for your area if there isn't one already- that's the best way to meet folks.

Just a heads up, asking for hand-outs from more experienced explorers tends to be frowned upon. Show that you're willing to take initiative and post some stuff that nobody's seen before, even if it's just some old houses. Asking to be adopted - that's maybe a little creepy.

If you can't find the answer using search, Feel free to post questions here in the rookie forum if you need some guidance.

Welcome and good luck!

And accept the fact that this simply takes time Some new people just want to be on the 'A-list' within a week, doesn't work like that.
