There was a thread a while back about .."how you know your into UE" .... well, I thought of a new one, Had to do a trip to San Antonio and drove down, Thursday night, took the usual 4 1/2 hours or so, did my event Friday, got up early and hit the road Saturday for my drive back, this is where the UE part comes in, it took me about 10 hours to make the drive back!

Got to try out the new Xterra I got to replace my faithful truck which got sideswiped by an 18 wheeler coming through all the construction mess in Grapevine, good thing I saw him coming and was braced for for it or it would have been much nastier, but that's another story.

So here is some shots I took along the way.

A couple of shots in Elgin, A neat little building that looks like it had some type of apartments upstairs and an old Mill that looks like someone was trying to rebuild it but now is for sale

Deer in someone's front yard in Salado, would pretty cool to wake up to this every morning! Very cool little town if your looking for a get away by the way. I took a drive around a bit and they got really slammed by the rains a couple weeks ago and flooded tons of people out of their houses.

Ok, now for the last, went by the General to see if they had started the renovation, they have, if you never went your to late, big loss, this was an awesome place. I have a question though, I have been looking at aerials all the way back to when I first went here years and I noticed a little building north of the turntable, DucanTx posted abut this some time back and I tried posting to that but didn't seem to show up so I am posting it here. Anyone know about this building and if it is still there. I got back to the turntable which I had never gone to, but had been watched going back in to the trails so didn't feel to good about leaving the new car and hiking back.
