| | | Old covington convent < on 9/16/2010 5:34 AM >
| | | Hi everyone, This is my first post, I've been doing UE for a while and finally decided to start taking pics and posting some stuff. I figure this old convent in my area (slidell/covington/mandeville) would be a good place to start. Location Description (copied from another site): This place has been abandoned to the lack of nuns. It was originaly est in 1913 and was abandoned in 1990 due to the nuns that were living there were getting too old and could no longer maintain the place. This is the building everyone calls the Old SSA building but is not a SSA school at all and never was.
First off, introductions...this is me
| Ingress which was made through an undeveloped section of a nearby neighborhood
| Another ingress shot
| The first room we entered was the kitchen
| Another kitchen shot
| Another kitchen shot
| Room adjoining the kitchen
| Another shot of the room adjoining the kitchen
| A shot of the disassembled alter
| I think this was also part of the alter
| Animal jawbone found in the dark creepy part of this place
| Chandelier found in same part
| A typewriter found in the dark part
| Public restroom
| Bathroom attached to one of the many bedrooms
| Another bathroom, its got handles for power pooping
| This was in one of the bed/dorm rooms, must have been an intercom
| I think the ceiling leaks
| Some funny graffiti
| More graffiti
| More graffiti
| More graffiti
| I would have never guessed
| More graffiti
| More graffiti
| I started to go explore the courtyard, this is a big room we came to on the way
| I sustained injury on the way out
| Bunch of wood in a sunroom type room
| This was the creepy part, someone hung a noose from the oak tree in the courtyard, creepy
| Another pic of the creepy noose
| |
Thats about it...after coming upon the noose we decided we had been there long enough and made our egress. I hope yall enjoyed my post and any pointers would be great... [last edit 9/16/2010 5:38 AM by medic pathetic - edited 1 times]

| | | Looks like an interesting spot. When you cut your hand on that window was it already broken or was that a modification you made with the Mag-Lite?

| | | I just read about this today, supposedly it's haunted. I like the pics, especially the altar. I rarely venture to the Northshore, but I have a friend from Covington who might be interested in a little UEing. Thanks for the inspiration!

| | | Nice location, thanks. The noose? Yeah, that's creepy. Kinda makes me wonder if its for effect, or for more real purposes.

I was wondering that myself. It looks like there's a crate underneath it to stand on...which is also kind of creepy.

Me and medic where just there on Wednesday and you can tell it was hung by kids. It was not even a real hangman noose knot. Not to ruin all the fun though.
