I do have my own income for 4 years now. Even though i still live with my parents, i'm working to earn some cash for UE, clothes and other stuff because i think they don't have to pay about things that they don't assume as something 'normal' or 'really necessary'. I'm 17 years old and i think that it's better to work and get own cash, not to ask parents about every single sh*t as a spoiled child.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Guess I'm an oxymoron. University graduate, fully employed, go to church every Sunday. Grew up obsessed with beauty, history, and untold stories; been exploring abandonments with my dad since I was a wee one. First date with my boyfriend began in typical city style at a restaurant in Uptown, but ended by exploring an abandoned spot. He likes commercial and more modern abandonments, because of their interesting anthropological finds. I prefer anything with architectural significance: educational, early 20th century industrial, residential. Anything with faded beauty and adventure, no matter how atypical. It's all about respect for the abandonments, the stories that they have to tell, and the people whose lives are intertwined with what these places once were. "Yuppie" couple with two degrees, two incomes, two residences, and two cars...out there, paying respect to forgotten sites and sharing with those who also love them. Not everyone is as they appear.

I'm a post-secondary student, so money goes towards that rather than a car/insurance/gas. Although I have no problem pitching in for gas if needed.

Do not attempt to stop with hands or genitals.

I'm a married mother of two. My husband (like many others in this economy) has lost several (university-educated well paying) jobs within the last year or two.

We live in a three-story turn of the century home, have one brand new and one used vehicle and rest assured, I urbex every chance I get. Despite our situation.

I don't believe that the urbex crowd is defined. I have 'met' those that are students, recipients and colleagues. There's room for everyone. You can make it out to explore, and so what. Who cares about how you do it? Just get out and do it. Whether with a shitty cam, the best DSLR or what have you... I say no walls define it.

That being said, there are many here that have the serious gear. They devote much more than many can. I figure I'm about mid-way and that's fine by me.

Love what you see and shoot what you love. However you have to do it.

/end

P.S.

Are there that many members that actually meet the standards of the poll?

I've had a car and no job, a job and no car, no car and no job, and a car and a job.

I don't own my own vehicle because I spend my money on photography, and my college education $13.5K for one year...

Also, I go to school in another town, but whenever I'm back home, I always make a trip to go exploring, and usually have mommy and daddy's car, making me the DD, and usually have 2-4 people that I have to drive... I have never gotten a ride from anyone...

Except Mommy and Daddy... Lol

Like I might have said before, I have a great job, a degree in Radiography, National and State certifications, a great car, and no other complaints, except i wish i had more time to explore.

Having all that though, i am much more cautious about where I go and what I explore, because all I need is ONE arrest or felony and I lose all of my licenses, my job, my car...
