Two critiques in one day...you'll probably hate me by the end of it!

Exposure-wise, I think this is good. The subject is rather 'blah' though. But, that being said, it would work nicely as a haunted house advertisement or something like that. I think making the rather unassuming subject into something more intriguing could be done by changing the overall framing. I really like that mess of a tree to the right in the foreground. I think moving your tripod off to your right a little bit, including the whole silhouetted tree in the foreground, and inherently eliminating the small amount of brush blocking the view of the house would do wonders for the photo. This is all conjecture on my part of course, it may look crappy that way since I am not at all familiar with the property. I do like the sky and the colors on the house. I think it has a potential...

The house looks like a demented owl. That I like!

I'd agree with cons and re-frame it over to the right more, to get in more of the weird old tree.

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

I think it's a little underexposed... at least the house is. If you popped a flash in front of the house a little bit, it would glow in an awesome way. If you backlit the whole scene and shot with a narrower aperture, you would have a super sharp, creepy scene.

Thanks guys! I did actually use a Flash on this shot, it's the only reason the house is even visible. This scene was in pitch black.

I actually have several versions with more of the tree on the right, but it didn't feel balanced and the angle of the house changed because of it. The house didn't look right and since it was the focal point, I felt it best to go with this version.

It IS a dark scene, I tried to lighten it up a bit but kept getting a bunch of noise when I did too much, so what you see is the probably as light as I can get it while still keeping the noise down. Looking in hindsight, I'd probably leave the exposure for a bit longer next time, but since I was trespassing to get this shot, I didn't feel like lingering too much
