My sister unknowingly does a bit of urbex in Gary!

My sister told a story at dinner today about something she did while on the way to a concert in Chicago a few days ago. She said she stopped in Gary, Indiana for some reason and ended up exploring an abandoned church! I showed her the first pictures that came up for "gary indiana abandoned church) and she said that was it.

Anyone have any experience exploring this church?

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

Probably. City Methodist is the one that's pretty much right in your face when you get to downtown Gary and it's going to be the one which comes up in nearly every search about Gary.

Pretty much everybody has done it at some point.

How did she "end up" exploring it?

She just stopped and got out and explored it. She's not even into exploring, so I really don't know. She took pictures, and I'll link to them when she puts them up.

Maybe she saw yet another film crew there & figured why not? The place has seen more foot traffic in the past year then city hall.

9/11/01 all gave some, some gave all. 343.

And there was a crew shooting a music video in the old bolt factory over the holiday weekend.... The town has been hopping lately.

If this goes any further, can we get the mods to change the title of this thread to "Urbex unknowingly does a little of your sister?"

Blah Blah Blah. Shut up and open the damn door.

City Methodist is probly one of the most popular places in gary to explore. It was actually the first place i went to and my business card was taken in there as well.
