Good noob sites in STL?

I'm looking to start getting into UE in the St. Louis, MO area, and was wondering what more experienced explorers would suggest as a good site for a beginner. I'm not looking for entrance details or anything like that, since I want to get used to figuring out ingress on my own.

get a bike or a car and just travel about, walk, ask people - old people love to talk, catch trains and buses and get a good window seat, read the local newspaper, visit the local historical society or google it, google maps....

exploring is exploring. if your sitting waiting for something to happen your doing it wrong. get out that door and hit the streets, get to know every part of the city/town area you live, the rest will follow.

If your looking for answers via the computer.. Try Bing Maps to scan around your area before heading out to give you an idea where to look..Otherwise Brownfields sites are often published online..some of those can be good fun.

I'm completely new to this too, and this is what I did for my first documented exploration (two days ago).

I talked to a friend of mine and he mentioned a big building with busted out windows in his area, and I drove through a really old beat down industrial area around where I live. We ended going with the place he found and it was a blast. After he saw the place the first time (by cruising around), he looked it up online to figure out what it is, and how long it had been abandoned.

The trip ended up really exciting and fun (thread in the pac. northwest forum.)

Good luck!
