Wow, this place is beautiful! And wonderful pictures of it!

I hope it stays in the condition that it's in now.

Dunno if you'll be coming in on Hwy 34 or not, but my great grandmothers 100+ year old house is sitting on that big corner entering Wolfe City just rotting away if you're interested. The neighbors watch it like a hawk, but I can have my mom call them ahead of time if you let me know when you'll be out there.

Some pics...

I noticed that mill last time I was out that way.
What's the story on this huge old barn in Wolf City?

That's known as "Hubert Henslee's Old Barn". School dances used to be held there from the 1970s and prior. There was even an apartment there up in the loft. My grandparents lived directly across the street from that barn, and we used to sit and watch photographers take pictures of that place on a near daily basis.

I can see why. It's a great old place. I haven't been inside in a few years but it looked to be losing ground pretty quickly. I have friends who own the old foundry in Ladonia I visit sometimes.

I haven't been up that way in a bit, but I'm pretty sure they bulldozed it.

Any idea if downtown will be quiet this weekend or do you think there will things going on for labor Day?

I would guess that with all the camping around there and what not, it will be pretty busy.
