My buddy and I were thinking up something similar to that. Pretty much the same though, basically breaking in to test security systems... THAT would be the ultimate job... 2 illegal things done completely legal with PAY! (And good f*ckin pay at that)

Why is marijuana not legal? Why is marijuana not legal? Its a natural plant that grows in the dirt. You know what's not natural, 80 year old dudes with hardons. Thats not natural, but we got pills for that. We're dedicating all our resources to keeping the old guys erect but we're puttin people in jail for smoking something that grows in the dirt.

You could have a company offering guided tours of UE locations. Say $40 a pop for a red mission, $30 for a yellow, and $20 for a green, plus travel costs. Of course I don't think you could get a business license promoting "illegel" activity, unless you cleverly marketed it as a tour company.

Some years ago I worked for an environmental engineering firm as an air sampling professional, which means that I took air samples at asbestos abatement sites and occasionally inspected buildings for asbestos. Although much of the work was dull, the job did give me many opportunities to crawl around and inspect "off-limits" places, including power plants, an opera house, school tunnels, etc.

There is a lot of jobs that are UE basically.

1. Ghost Hunter (You really have to know about UE to get into a lot of the places they go)

2. Write books about what you have seen.

3. Paranormal Investigator.

But by me saying this stuff I know some of you will say crap about it (Mostly people that think they are a ninja).
But a lot of this stuff is real and the jobs pay good if you work is a good team.

Other things you can do is seek out cool places and sell the pics you take of them or train people (But I think if you train some one you need to do it for free).

But really I think the soul of UE is more about just going out and seeing the under side of the world.
Not making money.

And anyway with good UE skills you can save a lot of money just by selling stuff you find when you are UEing about.
I once sold a TV I found in a dumpster for $100.
So if you keep your eyes open you can get a little side cash with little to no work.

One of the jobs I thought about looking into is geology and mineral engineering, I'd love to be one of the guys who goes out and surveys abandoned mines. I actually had a cool offer from the mineral engineering department here (I went in to bug them about dredge and tunnel info and got offered a scholarship), I guess they're hurting for enrollment. I'm considering taking them up on it next semester.

I was about to say Structural Engineer. At least if you got in with a firm that inspected structures to see if they were sound or not. Of course, this means getting an engineering degree, but I'm about 6 months away from having that part done... works for me. ;)

There is a thread very similar to this one floating around somewhere, but it's probably archived or long gone by now.

I doubt these are "good paying jobs." These are niche jobs, and most niche jobs do not pay that well. Has someone been watching too much Ghostbusters?

You are not implying that you should steal things while UE'ing are you? Because that would be wrong.

It all sounds like very good suggestions, however . .

What sort of dental plan would you get with that career move . .

Also - I would just love to sit on that interview panel to listen to the sh*t.

is there any type of career that involves or focuses on UE type activities? if so, im switching majors right now...

UE is career-related for me. I'm an adult photographer and use photography of old abandoned places for backgrounds in photo composites. We shoot models separately in our studios and then composite them in to various backgrounds later.

Are the models so afraid of abandoned places that they don't dare to come with you?-)

EXACTLY! This is the type of work that I may do in an average month. You would be amazed at the types of places we go into. And kudos to Chainsaw for the mention.
