|  | | | I posted these in the photos forum but then realized what i really wanted was to have someone tell me what they thought. What better forum than the critique area. Have at em'.
I have more and MUCH better at home. Ill post more later.

| | | | there are too many pics to critique, to get the most outta of this forum post at most 3 pics at a time and don't use the gallery software, upload them to flickr or photobucket and add them to the post with the img tag. Otherwise you likely won't get any response or viewers (like me, I won't click on gallery pics).

In all three images it's difficult to find the subject. Decide on a key item for the viewer to look at and then compose the lines of the image to lead the viewer's eye too and from that focal point. One way to do this is to pick out intriguing details. I think a zoomed-in, detailed shot would be much more powerful for photos #2 and #3.

One follow-up suggestion for composition: if you've never heard of the rule of thirds, take a minute to learn about it. This is the most basic set of guidelines for setting up an image to grab the viewers' attention and move their eye through the piece. Using (and knowing when to abuse) the rule of thirds can very quickly help your photography feel "more balanced" and "more interesting".

I agree with Sir2nv, good subject matter, but I think it needs to be framed better. The composition is a bit weak.

Thanks Guys, I'll do some reading. I plan to head out this weekend so I'll take some new stuff. I'm also going to try out HDR. My Z712is Kodak has a mode that almost instantly snaps 3 photos of varying light levels.

ohhh future hdr shots in the making. :p
(I personally like them)
The car shot was my favorite, but please once you learn the rule of thirds don't go overboard with it. It becomes very very boring very very quickly.

FYI, this is called bracketing, so your camera has an autobracketing feature. Often used as a verb, as in: "If you're worried about iffy exposure in a complex lighting situation, try bracketing."
