cazybeast2 and I made it out to the NIKE site in Elroy yesterday, the magazines are all welded shut and it appears to be in use as a cattle ranch. This is the launch site that once housed 12 Hercules missiles, there's not much left of it, but what is left is being used to store carpets, appliances, tractors, RV's and deer hunting stuff. also the launch pads are being used as shooting ranges.

Pretty cool! So I guess the donkeys were nice.

Not much left, still a nice find though. Cold War stuff is cool...except for the Cold War itself of course. These bases are good examples of how fast technology and engineering was coming along. Most were obsoleted in only a few years for better weapons and radar.

I have found that if you give donkeys some cigarettes or hooch they'll show you where all the cool stuff is.

Definitely a cool site, probably would have been a lot nicer if it wasn't above 100 degrees over the weekend.

Also we stopped by a random abandoned house that day too.

It.

I like this oven.
