|  | | | I know these are a bit blurry... was steadying the the camera on the edge of the roof rather than a tripod and doing 5 to 10 second exposures. :p

| | | | As is, these aren't much to look at, although the second one could be quite cool if you did a longer exposure and used a tripod. The lighting is pretty sweet. The first is too blurry and dark to make out much. You could get clean, bright, unbroken lines from the cars going past if you used a high f-stop and bulb mode.

| | | | I did night photography for years before finally breaking down and buying a tripod. If the roof ledge is flat or there's a way to position the camera so that your hands aren't holding it, you can get away with passable photos. It limits your angles, but looks much clearer. Just hit the shutter and take your hands off, and any jostling won't make much difference in an 8-second or whatever exposure.
